New Delhi: A month-long, aggressive anti-dust campaign has been initiated by the Delhi government. Gopal Rai, the minister of environment for Delhi, stated that as part of the effort, all 14 anti-dust standards must be strictly adhered to by building sites. He warned that violators would face harsh punishment.
According to the National Green Tribunal’s rules, the government would issue fines ranging from 10,000 to 500,000 rupees for violations of anti-dust regulations at construction sites. To oversee the execution of this programme, 586 teams in total, including 33 DPCC (Delhi Pollution Control Committee) teams, have been organised.
Building enormous tin barriers around construction sites to prevent dust from spreading and covering construction or demolition activities with tents or nets are two of the 14 anti-dust rules. If you see someone breaking these laws, the Delhi government has urged you to report them on the Green Delhi App by taking pictures. On November 6th, the anti-dust campaign will come to an end.
