Kirti Vardhan Singh, the Minister of State for External Affairs, told the Rajya Sabha today that Indian passport holders can enter 16 countries without a visa. In a written response, he stated that Indian passport holders can obtain e-visas in 47 countries and visas on arrival in 40 countries. He stated that in order to facilitate Indians’ international travel, the center has been working nonstop to expand the list of nations where they can enter the country without a visa, obtain one upon arrival, and apply for an electronic visa.

According to the minister, it is the receiving state’s sovereign prerogative to grant visa-free entrance to foreign nationals.
