Arunachal Pradesh : No fatalities or major injuries have been reported on the Indian side of the conflict between Indian and Chinese troops in the Tawang area of Arunachal Pradesh said by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Chinese troops attempted to cross the Line of Actual Control in the Yangtse area of Tawang Sector on the 9th of this month, according to a statement made by Mr. Singh in the Lok Sabha today regarding the event.
Indian forces resisted the Chinese attack with firmness and resolve. He claimed that after a verbal altercation turned physical, the Indian Army valiantly stopped the Chinese troops from invading Indian land and forced them to return to their positions. According to him, a few staff members on both sides were hurt during the altercation. According to the defence minister, Chinese soldiers returned to their posts as a result of prompt action by Indian military leaders. He revealed that the local commanders of both sides met for a flag meeting on Sunday, December 11.
The Chinese side has been instructed to stop from taking such acts and preserve calm and quiet along the border. The Minister stated that diplomatic channels had been used to raise the issue with the Chinese side. Mr. Singh informed the House that the Indian Forces are devoted to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and will keep up their efforts to repel any intrusions. Congress and a few other opposition parties thereafter staged a walkout from the House in protest of the Minister’s remarks.
