New Delhi: More than 22 crore 20 lakh Ayushman Cards have reportedly been distributed to beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, according to Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.
In September 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the programme. The programme is being put into place to give people access to health insurance.
In a tweet, Dr. Mandaviya stated that the programme, which is the largest healthcare programme in the world, offers vulnerable families a health cover of five lakh rupees per family per year. According to him, the programme is intended to help more than ten crore disadvantaged families nationwide.
