Kolkata: India has a firm policy of zero tolerance against corruption, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also urged the populace to fight it jointly. Prime Minister Modi spoke electronically at the G20 Anti-Corruption Ministerial Meeting in Kolkata and reaffirmed India’s strong commitment to fighting corruption and promoting openness in government.
India is utilising technology and e-governance to create an ecosystem that is open and responsible, Prime Minister Modi emphasised. According to him, the poor and those who are marginalised are the ones who are most affected by corruption. The distribution of resources, markets, and people’s quality of life are all impacted by corruption, he continued.
According to Mr. Modi, the government is pursuing economic criminals actively, has passed the Economic criminals Act, and has found fugitive and economic offenders’ assets worth more than 1.8 billion dollars. According to the prime minister, leaks in the welfare system have been closed, and 360 billion dollars have been distributed directly to citizens of the nation.
