New Delhi: India’s healthcare industry holds the key to the country’s prosperity, according to Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. He made this statement today at the opening of six new medical facilities at AIIMS in New Delhi. Speaking at the event, the Minister stated that the units, which have a value of over 700 crore rupees, are evidence of India’s increasing focus on healthcare.

The Minister said that more than 10,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, more than 170,000 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, and coverage under Ayushman Bharat had made primary medical examinations, treatments, and medications more reasonably priced and of high quality available to the underprivileged in their cities. He continued by saying that the rise of government medical institutions to 710 and the number of MBBS seats to one lakh seventy thousand demonstrated India’s commitment to the Heal in India, Heal by India campaign. The Minister added that the country is on course to eradicate tuberculosis by 2025.
