Kochi: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs will launch the 15th iteration of the Urban Mobility India Conference and Expo in Kochi. Both Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will serve as the event’s co-inaugurators.
The three-day conference will feature participation from senior officials from the federal and state governments, decision-makers, managing directors of metro rail enterprises, and international specialists. The yearly event aims to strengthen local and state government capacity while addressing issues with urban transportation.
The subject will be “Azadi @75 — Sustainable Atmanirbhar Urban Mobility.” Although the nation needs reliable and efficient urban transportation infrastructure to maintain its economic growth, the current levels of urban mobility are creating a crisis. High levels of traffic congestion, pollution, and fatal accidents on the road define this.
The three-day conference’s main goals will be to develop and implement effective, high-quality urban transportation systems. Additionally, it would establish principles for creating sustainable and fair urban transportation networks for all facets of society.
