New Delhi: India will become the world’s most competitive supplier of green hydrogen and ammonia, according to Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh. The Minister praised the Union Cabinet’s decision to launch the National Green Hydrogen Mission as a brave and innovative move, and he expressed confidence that the nation will produce five million metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually by the 2030 target date.
In a press conference with the media today in New Delhi, Mr. Singh stated that efforts are being made to lessen the nation’s reliance on the importation of fossil fuels and that the Green Hydrogen Mission will assist in achieving energy independence. According to him, the nation has a competitive advantage in the production of green hydrogen since it possesses the required resources and a robust and flourishing green energy sector. India has the capacity to develop green energy at a price that is highly competitive, he claimed. The Minister expressed confidence in the ability of local industry to provide green hydrogen and ammonia at a lower cost than other nations.
