New Delhi: India has grown to be one of the largest nations producing electricity from solar energy, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister stated that the entire globe sees solar energy as the future while addressing the country on All India Radio’s Mann Ki Baat programme. He emphasised that India is fusing modern science with her traditional knowledge in this area. The lives of the country’s middle class and poor are transforming, he continued, thanks to solar energy.

According to Mr. Modi, India has always been a nation where the Sun is not only venerated but also the centre of the populace’s way of life. Thiru K. Ezilon, a farmer in Tamil Nadu, was used as an example by the speaker. Mr. Ezilon installed a solar pump set with 10 horsepower on his property by utilising the “Kusum Yojana” benefits. The cost of energy for their farm is no longer a need. Even for field irrigation, they are no longer reliant on government electricity supplies.

The Prime Minister used an additional PM Kusum Yojana recipient as an example. Kamalji Meena of Rajasthan built a solar pump in the field, which has reduced his costs. Additionally, Kamalji is employing about 10 people by supplying solar electricity to numerous other small businesses.
