Haitham Bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman, touched down in New Delhi for his three-day State Visit to India. He was met at the airport by State Minister of External Affairs V Muraleedharan. Senior Ministers and other officials are part of the high-level delegation that is travelling with the Sultan. The Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s first state visit to India represents a critical turning point in the diplomatic ties between India and the Sultanate of Oman. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the visit would improve bilateral relations and further solidify the long-standing friendship and collaboration between Oman and India.
This evening, Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik was visited by Dr. S. Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs. In a social media message, Dr. Jaishankar expressed his appreciation for the Sultan of Oman’s assistance in advancing the strategic partnership between India and Oman.
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give Sultan Haitham bin Tarik a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He will speak with Mr. Modi one-on-one, and the Prime Minister will throw a luncheon in celebration of the visiting official. A visit from Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to the Sultan of Oman is planned. It is also planned for Sultan Tarik to visit the National Gallery of Modern Art.
