New Delhi: 5.22 million rupees in subsidies have been provided by the government to encourage the use of 11.53 lakh electric vehicles nationwide this year. Additionally, 800 crore rupees have been approved by the government for PSU Oil Marketing Corporations to establish 7,432 public fast-charging stations throughout the nation. According to the Ministry of Heavy Industries, there are already 148 public charging stations for electronic vehicles operating around the nation.

According to the Ministry, the government is dedicated to offering green and clean public transport across the nation. In order to lessen reliance on fossil fuels and solve the issue of vehicle emissions, the Ministry announced that it is putting the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing Electric Vehicles (FAME-II) initiative into Phase II implementation.
