At the Asian Championship in Tashkent in 2024, the contingent of Indian arm wrestlers wins seven medals.

The Indian team in arm wrestling won seven medals in all, one gold and six bronze, at the Asian Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 2024. With two categories of competition, India’s best performance was Shrimant Jha. In the left-hand para category, he took home the gold medal, and in the right-hand para category, the bronze.

Laxman Singh Bhandari won two bronze medals in the Masters division, and Sachin Goyal took home the bronze in the very contested Senior right-hand category. Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh’s Ibi Lollen won two bronze medals in the women’s right and left hand categories.

Under the leadership of President Preeti Jhangiani, the People’s Armwrestling Federation of India (PAFI) represented the Indian team in the competition. The only organization in India that is affiliated with both the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) and the Asian Armwrestling Federation (AAF) is PAFI.
