New Delhi: Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders will soon be able to read QR codes, which will aid in household cylinder regulation. This QR Code would be welded on new cylinders as well as pasted on old ones, according to Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. He continued by saying that when the QR code is used, it might help with a number of current problems, including theft, tracking and tracing, and better gas cylinder inventory management.
According to Indian Oil Corporation Limited Chairman Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, it is now being used as a pilot project in a neighbourhood in Delhi, and it is anticipated that within the next three to six months, QR codes will be present on every home LPG cylinder. He said that customers would be able to learn details about the cylinders, such as where it was packaged, through the QR code.
