Narendra Modi Supports Secular Civil Code and Draws Attention to Supreme Court’s Consistent Requests for Change

Prime Minister Modi argued that the Supreme Court had repeatedly recommended the creation of a Uniform Civil Code, supporting the introduction of a secular civil code nationwide. According to him, the nation needs a secular civil code because it currently has a communal one. All parties involved were urged to discuss the uniform civil code issue by Mr. Modi.

Criminal laws were changed, according to Mr. Modi’s government. In essence, he stated, the new criminal laws seek to provide citizens with justice rather than punishment. Regarding Bangladesh, the Prime Minister said that India, being a neighbor, is worried about the circumstances there. He wished for the earliest possible return to normalcy.
