A nationwide pledge-taking event against drug misuse under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) was organized today by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Dr. Virendra Kumar, the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, gave the oath today in New Delhi. This year’s theme is Bharat ho Nashe se Swatantra, Viksit Bharat ka Mantra.
The minister stated in the speech that over 11 crore people had joined the NMBA to date. He stated that over one crore participants from all over the nation took part in the online event today. These participants included state and union territory governments, central ministries, students, faculty members from schools, colleges, and universities, the National Cadet Corps, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, and other public institutions.
The National Millennium Bar Association (NMBA) was introduced by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on August 15, 2020, and has been in effect in every district of the nation since August of the previous year.
