As part of the Atmanibhar Bharat program, the government announced today that 27 states nationwide have benefited from the production-linked incentive (PLI) plan. As a positive development, Commerce Minister Piyush Goel responded to the Lok Sabha supplementaries by stating that now, 65 percent of AC components are produced domestically. The government, he claimed, had opened the window once more because the PLI system was producing great outcomes and the subsidy was still included in the scheme.
