Sangrur: The 300-bed satellite center of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Sangrur, Punjab, which is located near Rajkot, Gujarat, will be virtually dedicated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the cornerstone for the PGIMER Satellite Center, which will have 100 beds, in Ferozpur, Punjab.
The Punjabi people and those in neighboring states will benefit from the creation of these PGIMER Satellite Centers in Sangrur and Ferozpur, which will assist to address disparities in the availability of comprehensive, reasonably priced, high-quality, and all-encompassing tertiary care health services. Through community outreach initiatives and the use of digital health care infrastructure, these satellite centers will also connect with the underprivileged population in remote places.
Modern amenities are provided by the PGIMER Satellite Center in Sangrur, Punjab, which was built at a cost of Rs. 449 Crores on a 25-acre plot of land. It serves the community’s healthcare needs. The 300-bed Satellite Center seeks to relieve pressure on the primary PGI facility while improving patient access to high-quality healthcare. 300 beds, five large and two small operating rooms, intensive care unit (ICU) wards, emergency services, in-patient department (IPD) services, telemedicine center, and a number of other state-of-the-art amenities utilizing the newest technologies are some of its primary characteristics.
