Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, described the Indian Institute of Mass Communication’s attainment of deemed university status as a unique and historic day. Mr. Thakur stated on social media that the Institute has an illustrious past of providing high-quality instruction in media-related fields like public relations, journalism, and advertising. He claimed that the awarding of university status signifies a fresh start, with the possibility of more courses, research, and PhD programs being added to the curriculum.
The Minister expressed gratitude to Dharmendra Pradhan, the Minister of Education, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their decision. He went on to say that this move will open up new possibilities and encourage the country’s young to pursue new interests.
