Amit Shah opens the National Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar’s Center of Excellence in Digital Forensics.

India’s criminal justice system is expected to become the most advanced in the world in the next five years, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Speaking, Mr. Shah had just opened the National Forensic Science University in Gandhinagar’s Center of Excellence of Digital Forensics.

According to Mr. Shah, the administration has passed three new laws and made significant modifications to the nation’s 150-year-old criminal justice system. In the course of investigating crimes that are older than seven years, the government also mandates the presence of forensic experts. He claimed that NFSU was founded in order to meet the need for forensic specialists in the criminal justice system. According to him, the NFSU’s new center of excellence will support both research and capacity building.

The Home Minister also emphasized the use of behavior forensics in crime prevention and the broader applications of forensic science beyond investigation. According to Mr. Shah, the government is dedicated to accelerating the pace of investigations and ensuring prompt justice. In order to enhance inquiry, he said, the government is also focusing on data integration and artificial intelligence. According to the Minister, technology would play a critical role in resolving the issues facing the Indian criminal justice and legal systems.
