New Delhi: The India-US Trade Policy Forum (TPF) convened its fourteenth ministerial-level conference in New Delhi. The forum meeting was co-chaired by U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai and Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.

The Ministers pledged to pursue a basis to initiate future Joint Initiatives in specific areas, such as supply chains, trade in high-tech products, customs and trade facilitation, and essential minerals, according to a Joint Statement released following the meeting. In order to accomplish economically significant results, both countries will create an ambitious and forward-looking roadmap for further cooperation. at order to reduce non-tariff obstacles, both countries at the forum decided to create a Joint Facilitative Mechanism (JFM). This mechanism would work towards the mutual recognition of laboratory results and, whenever feasible, establish bilateral mutual recognition agreements (MRAs).
