India’s demographics, democracy, and diversity, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have the capacity to realise all of India’s aspirations. Mr. Modi said, “India has an opportunity during this first year of Amrit Kaal to dedicate the lives and work towards scripting the next 1000 years,” in a speech to the country delivered from the Red Fort’s ramparts on the 77th anniversary of Independence Day on August 15, 2023. According to him, India’s growth and ascension have rekindled international support for the nation.

The progress of India, according to the prime minister, is not solely fueled by major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. He asserted that kids in tier-2 cities are equally contributing to the development of the country. The government is prepared to provide the youth with as many possibilities as they desire, Mr. Modi assured them, and there is no shortage of opportunities.

The nation, according to Mr. Modi, is with Manipur. He claimed that during the recent spate of violence in the North East, particularly in Manipur, many lives were lost and the honour of mothers and daughters was severely damaged.

The prime minister paid respect to all those who had given their time and lives in the nation’s struggle for freedom and remembered them. He stated that the nation is commemorating the 150th birthday of revolutionary leader Sri Aurobindo today, August 15. According to Mr. Modi, this year also marks the 150th anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s birth, the 500th anniversary of Rani Durgavati’s birth, and the 525th anniversary of Meerabai, a key figure in the Bhakti movement. The holiday of independence is being observed today by 140 crore family members in the largest democracy and current population in the world, he claimed.
