In the men’s javelin throw competition at the World Athletics Continental Gold Tour held at the Paavo Nurmi Stadium in Turku, Finland, Olympic and World Champion Neeraj Chopra took home the gold medal. Last night, he won an eight-person field with a best performance of 85.97 meters. Chopra started out slowly with an 83.62-meter throw. Oliver Helander, a local favorite, challenged him for the lead and won the second round with a throw of 83.96 meters. On his third try, Chopra answered with his greatest throw of the day, a rocketing 85.97 meters.
