Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday reiterated his commitment to buy paddy from each registered farmer in the state.
Every possible effort has been made for a hassle-free procurement from the farmers and they need to be patient, he said.
Baghel said this while addressing a function in village Jamgaon-R in Patan block of Durg to mark the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Ghasidas.
He said the previous year 92 lakh tonnes of paddy were procured while this Kharif season it may go beyond 100 lakh tonnes.
So far, around 58 percent of the target had been achieved and the government is committed to procure paddy from each and every registered farmer, he said.
On being asked by Baghel, farmers at the venue said the use of vermicompost had increased their produce.
