Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh makes a three-day state visit arrival in New Delhi

Pham Minh Chinh, the Vietnamese prime minister, is on a three-day state visit to India and has landed in New Delhi. A high-level delegation, comprising of various ministers, deputy ministers, and business executives, is with him.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita met the visiting dignitary at the airport, and Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on X to extend a hearty greeting. Prime Minister Chinh’s visit will further solidify the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India, Mr. Jaiswal added, highlighting the two nations’ long-standing friendship and deep civilizational links.

Along from hosting a luncheon in his honor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Chinh are expected to have bilateral talks. Additionally, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and President Droupadi Murmu will meet with Prime Minister Chinh. The visiting prime minister will also be received by Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs.

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Vietnam in 2016, the long-standing historical and civilizational connections between India and Vietnam were raised to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. The Ministry made it clear that Vietnam is seen by India as a vital component of its Act East Policy and a significant ally in its Indo-Pacific strategy.
