New Delhi: Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe will make an official trip to India on friday. At the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he will travel to the nation.

President Wickremesinghe will see President Droupadi Murmu during his tour, and he will also have discussions with the Prime Minister and other Indian leaders on a number of topics of shared interest. In a statement, India’s External Affairs Minister noted that Sri Lanka is a key ally in the country’s Neighbourhood First Policy and SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision. The visit will reaffirm the long-standing relationship between the two nations and examine opportunities for improved connectivity and cross-sectoral cooperation that will benefit both parties.
