The Union Health Ministry has emphasized that hospitals must strictly follow legal requirements and fire safety standards. The Ministry underlined that every healthcare facility must prioritize the safety and wellbeing of its patients, employees, and visitors. A few locations have reported fire occurrences recently. According to the Ministry, these events are the consequence of short circuits brought on by inadequate electrical maintenance and the overloading of power lines brought on by the usage of air conditioners and other appliances.
Recently, the Ministry met in this respect with around 390 Health Care Organizations as well as States and Union Territories. In addition to guaranteeing regulatory compliance, it emphasized that creating a strong fire safety plan and practicing safety drills and evacuations will protect people and property.
