New Delhi: The Centre has given the go-ahead to spend 14 093 million rupees on expanding the Digital India scheme. Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of communications and information technology, told reporters following the Union Cabinet meeting that the Digital India programme, which began in 2015, has significantly improved the lives of the poorest of the poor. According to him, the project will retrain and upskill six lakh twenty five thousand IT experts. According to Mr. Vaishnaw, the Information Security and Education Awareness Programme will provide two lakh sixty five thousand people with information security training. He declared that 1,200 startups would receive help in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
