The approval of eight National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects by the Union Cabinet, which will cost over 50,000 crores of rupees, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will increase employment possibilities and have a multiplier effect on the nation’s economic growth. In an Instagram post, Mr. Modi stated that it also demonstrates the government’s dedication to an integrated and forward-thinking India.

Previously, eight significant National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects totaling nine hundred thirty-six kilometers in length and fifty thousand 655 crore rupees in total cost were approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs. These initiatives will boost national connectivity, lessen traffic, and increase the effectiveness of logistics. Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnav told the media Friday night in New Delhi that these initiatives are in keeping with India’s 2047 vision.

A six-lane, 88-kilometer Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor would be built under these projects at a cost of 4,661.33 crore rupees using the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. A four-lane Kharagpur – Moregram National High-Speed Corridor will also be a part of it. For ten thousand two hundred forty-seven crore rupees, a four-lane, access-controlled high-speed corridor spanning two hundred and thirty-one kilometers would be created in the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) between Kharagpur and Moregram.
