Hyderabad: To assist needy patients, particularly breast cancer-stricken women, the Telangana state government has been urged to include cancer treatment and diagnostic procedures in the health insurance programme.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the governor of the state, has made an appeal to this effect, expressing worry over the high cost of cancer treatment and other necessary expensive diagnostic tests. She said that it was critical to expand health insurance programmes like Arogyasri in order to protect patients from exorbitant costs. She was speaking at an event that was a part of the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad’s International Breast Cancer Awareness Month programme.
The governor also emphasised the significance of raising awareness about breast cancer in order to aid in early detection and efficient treatment, which will help preserve many priceless lives. To avoid the worsening of any medical problem related to breast cancer, she recommended the women to get regular checkups.
