Chennai: The past several days have seen heavy rains in Tamilnadu’s coastal districts. Rainfall ranging from moderate to heavy has been seen in more than eight districts in the state’s northern and southern regions. The Regional Met department predicts that rain will fall through this month’s sixth day.
Districts with a high probability of rain have announced a day off for schools as a precaution. Normal life has been hampered in and around Chennai due to the persistent downpour. The district administrations have been instructed by the state government to take action in urgently necessary instances. To avoid harm, it has been suggested to the district authorities that they coordinate with the Met Department, organisations in charge of disaster management, the Department of Health, and the Department of Electricity.
