Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman advocated for creativity, scientific thinking, and rapid problem-solving to transform India into a developed country. She also stated that science education and research should be utilized to the fullest extent possible for the benefit of society. Ms. Sitharaman was speaking today at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research—IISER—in Bhopal during its eleventh convocation ceremony.
The Minister urged the students to create batteries and other materials that can store renewable energy, calling it the energy of the future. She also urged attempts to use sophisticated chemistry to address the nation’s energy demands.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav spoke on the event, emphasizing that students should make every effort to further research, as it has always been important in all eras.
