The PM E-DRIVE Scheme was introduced today in New Delhi by Union Minister for Heavy Industries, H.D. Kumaraswamy. During the event, the Minister declared that the program will increase national adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and foster innovation in the nation. Ten thousand nine hundred crore rupees will be needed for the scheme’s two-year financial outlay.
Furthermore, Mr. Kumaraswamy disclosed that approximately 3,668,80 crore rupees have been set aside for the development of electric vehicles, including trucks, ambulances, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers. He went on to say that in addition to various other allocations for electric vehicles, 500 crore rupees have been set aside for the deployment of e-ambulances, 4,000,395,91 crore rupees for the purchase of approximately 14,000 e-buses, and 2,000 crore rupees for the installation of fast chargers.
The Minister added that in order for EV buyers to benefit from demand incentives, e-vouchers certified by Aadhar will be introduced. Both customers and manufacturers will have a smooth experience with the e-vouchers.
