Nominations for the Lok Sabha elections’ second phase are closing today. In this phase, elections will be held for 88 Lok Sabha seats spread among 12 States and Union Territories, as well as the remaining portion of the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat. The first phase of the election will include a portion of the Outer Manipur constituency.
In this second phase of elections, twenty seats from Kerala, fourteen from Karnataka, thirteen from Rajasthan, eight from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, seven from Madhya Pradesh, five from Assam and Bihar, three from West Bengal and Chhattisgarh, and one from each of Manipur, Tripura, and Jammu and Kashmir will be held. On April 26, there will be voting for this phase. On April 5, all States and Union Territories will have their nominees scrutinized, with the exception of Jammu and Kashmir. The inspection in Jammu and Kashmir is scheduled for April 6.
