Narendra Modi approves of the Successful Completion of the Digital India Initiative After Nine Years

The Digital India effort has successfully completed nine years, a feat praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Modi stated on social media that “Digital India” represents an empowered nation that increases transparency and ease of living. He also gave a preview of the advancements achieved throughout the previous ten years.

More farmers than the combined populations of France and Canada now get direct bank account payments of over 11 crore, thanks to the Digital India campaign. Aadhaar, a unique ID for each Indian, has been generated for over 137 crore people, giving millions of people access to a digital identity. DigiLocker released more than 674 crore documents.

Enough optical fiber network has been installed by BharatNet to circle the Earth more than 17 times. More than 535 lakh crore rupees have been transacted through UPI. More Ayushman Cards than the US population—more than 34.6 crore—have been issued. More than nine crore FASTags have been issued, which is nearly equivalent to the total number of automobiles produced globally in 2023.
