The Union Health Ministry has written to all the States and Union Territories to inform them that on Tuesday, all medical facilities across the nation will hold a mock drill.
The goal of this exercise, according to Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, is to ensure that these health facilities are operationally ready for the management of COVID. He addressed the letter to the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Secretary (Health) of all States and Union Territories.
According to him, during the mock drill, attention will be paid to the accessibility of medical facilities, bed capacities, the best possible accessibility of human resources, such as doctors, nurses, and paramedics, the accessibility of ambulances equipped with both advanced and basic life support, and the availability of medical oxygen.
