Brasilia: At City Park in Brasilia, Brazil, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He expressed his happiness at learning about the influence of Gandhian principles and values on local communities in a tweet.
On a two-day visit, Mr. Muraleedharan arrived in Brazil yesterday. India is currently in the nation for the first high-level visit after the completion of the presidential election there last week.
The Minister will attend the solemn session commemorating India’s 75th anniversary of independence when he is in Brazil. Mr. Muraleedharan will also address members of the Brazilian Parliament’s upper and lower houses, as well as members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organisations, and officials from the governments of Brazil and India.
