Gujarat : This evening marked the conclusion of the second and last day of campaigning for the Gujarat Assembly Elections. The election is scheduled for Monday. Senior figures from all political parties made desperate attempts to win over the electorate.
There are 833 candidates running for 93 seats split over 14 districts in North and Central Gujarat, including 69 women and 285 independents. There will be elections in well-known districts including Patan, Mehsana Gandhinagar, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. This phase will determine the political future of a number of notable politicians, including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, seven state cabinet ministers, and other BJP leaders including Hardik Patel and Alpesh Thakur.
On Monday, more than 2.51 crore people, including almost 6 lakh eager first-time voters, will decide the political future of the leaders. 660 NRI voters are also anticipated to cast their ballots, while nearly 5,400 voters are 99 years of age or older. There are 26,409 polling places set up for this round of voting, including 93 model polling places and 14 polling places run by young people. A total of 29 people are running for the Bapunagar Assembly seat, whereas only three are running for the Idar Assembly seat.
