New Delhi: The change of the Food Corporation of India should be completed quickly, according to Union Minister Piyush Goyal, so that the organisation may continue to assist the nation’s citizens, the underprivileged, and farmers. At today’s 59th Foundation Day of FCI in New Delhi, he made this statement during his introductory remarks.
Piyush Goyal gave instructions to the Secretary of the Department of Food and Public Distribution to fortnightly brief him on the transformation of FCI and Central Warehousing Corporation and to monitor it every week. According to him, officials who refuse to assist or hinder the change process must face harsh punishment.
The Minister stated that the inquiry into alleged incidences of corruption at FCI is a wake-up call for the institution. He gave the assurance that no one discovered engaging in unethical behaviour would be spared. He declared that FCI would adhere to the “Zero Tolerance for Corruption” philosophy.
