The inaugural India-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be attended by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar today in Riyadh. Building stronger links between India and the Gulf countries is the goal of this historic meeting. Improving collaboration in a number of areas, including as commerce, investment, and energy, will be the main goal of the first-ever GCC Foreign Ministers conference. This diplomatic effort is crucial for India’s foreign policy because the GCC is home to some 8.9 million Indian expatriates and is a significant commercial partner.
In order to strengthen India’s ties with the GCC, Dr. Jaishankar is also anticipated to have bilateral discussions with his colleagues from those nations while he is there. During the first day of his two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Jaishankar paid special attention to important cultural landmarks in Riyadh, highlighting the historical connections between the kingdom and India. The Saudi National Museum, Murabba Palace, and the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (DARAH) were all visited by the minister.
