Dr. S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, is in Germany for the 60th Munich Security Conference. Dr. Jaishankar will participate in a panel discussion today on “Growing the Pie: Seizing Shared Opportunities” as part of the conference. Along with the External Affairs Minister, the US Secretary of State Blinken and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will participate in the panel discussion.
Dr. Jaishankar spoke with notable leaders yesterday on the fringes of the conference, including US Secretary of State Blinken and his British counterpart David Cameron, about matters of regional and global importance as well as bilateral cooperation. Dr. Jaishankar stated on social media that he and Mr. Blinken’s conversation revolved over the circumstances in West Asia, Ukraine, and the Indo-Pacific region. They discussed the ongoing development of bilateral ties between the US and India, he said.
The topic of discussion during the meeting between Canada’s Melanie Joly and the External Affairs Minister was the current status of bilateral relations. The two leaders discussed the state of the world as well. The High Representative for Foreign Affairs of the European Union, Josep Borrell, and the External Affairs Minister discussed the state of the world today. Global and regional concerns were discussed by Dr. Jaishankar and UK Foreign Minister David Cameron, along with bilateral collaboration between India and the UK.
