Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister for Science and Technology, stated today that the scientific prowess of the Indian diaspora is crucial to India’s development by the year 2047. During the First Batch of Viashvik Bharatiya Vigyanik VAIBHAV Fellowships launch event in New Delhi, Dr. Singh stated that India has had multiple scientific and technological triumphs in the past ten years. Dr. Singh expressed gratitude for India’s advancements and noted that significant progress has been made in the areas of biotechnology, innovation, quantum missions, and space economics. The Minister urged the Indian diaspora to acknowledge India’s abundant prospects and support its growth.

Dr. Singh praised the VAIBHAV fellowship, stating that it attempts to reconnect Indian diaspora members with their cultural roots and to harness their scientific potential. The first group of 22 scientists worldwide with Indian ancestry were awarded the VAIBHAV fellowship, which was introduced by the Minister.
