Ayush practice standardization will be the focus of a new department being established by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Ministry announced this program, which aims to improve the quality, safety, and efficacy of Ayush products. Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homeopathy would all be covered by the department.
According to BIS Director General Pramod Kumar, the Ayush department would set up seven sectional committees, each of which will concentrate on a different Ayush system. These committees will work with interested parties to create standards that are supported by evidence and compliant with both national and international regulations.
