New and engaging textbooks will be introduced in class three and six from the academic year 2024-2025. The Education Ministry informed that textbook development work is in the final phase and nine textbooks for Grades 3 and 6 are already available. The remaining eight will be available very soon. It was discussed as Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan did a detailed review of the progress of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbook development with the Secretary, School Education and Literacy, Director of NCERT, and Chairperson of Central Board of Secondary Education in New Delhi yesterday.
According to the Ministry, the National Education Policy 2020 seeks to make learning enjoyable and stress-free for improved learning outcomes by offering reasonably priced, excellent textbooks. In order to completely implement the guidelines of NEP 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education, NCERT is creating new textbooks for grades one through twelve.
