New Delhi: 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) will be dedicated to the country by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conference. On this occasion, he will also address the group.
The Finance Minister announced the creation of 75 DBUs in 75 districts as part of this year’s budget speech in honour of the nation’s 75th anniversary of independence. The purpose of the DBUs is to make sure that the advantages of digital banking are felt throughout the entire nation. Participating in the project are one Small Finance Bank, twelve Private Sector Banks, and eleven Public Sector Banks.
DBUs will have physical locations where customers can access a range of digital banking services, including opening savings accounts, checking account balances, printing passbooks, transferring money, investing in fixed deposits, applying for loans, giving stop-payment instructions for issued checks, applying for credit or debit cards, viewing account statements, paying taxes, paying bills, making nominations, and more.
