Dharmendra Pradhan minister of education, has said that the government has launched a number of programmes over the past eight years to support the growth of tribal groups across the nation.
According to Mr. Pradhan, spending for the development of tribal people has increased from just 19 thousand crore rupees in 2014 to 91 thousand crore rupees now. He revealed that the Department of Tribal Affairs’ budget has increased as well, reaching 8,500 crores of rupees from 3,800 crores in 2014.
The Minister continued by saying that in order to support high-quality education in tribal communities, the government built over 650 Eklavya Model Residential Schools at a cost of over 29 thousand crore rupees.
The implementation of several ambitious programmes like the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries, and Stand Up is being done in tribal areas in order to create jobs and encourage self-employment, Mr. Pradhan continued.
