In New Delhi today was the 54th meeting of the GST Council. The gathering, which included State Minister of Finance Pankaj Chaudhary and State Finance Ministers, was facilitated by Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman. A standard rate of 12 percent GST on all steel, iron, and aluminum milk cans was recommended by the GST Council during its most recent meeting, which took place in June of this year. It was also suggested by the council that the ordinary man’s access to platform ticket sales, waiting room and retiring room facilities, and battery-operated automobile services offered by Indian Railways should not be subject to GST.
