New Delhi: Three CGHS Wellness Centres were opened by Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in Alaknanda, Rohini Sector-16, and Vasant Vihar in Delhi. At the National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases in Delhi on Friday, the Health Minister also opened a Robotic Unit.

According to Mandaviya, the three wellness clinics join the 341 CGHS Wellness clinics that now provide services to 44 lakh clients. He went on to say that the robotic unit and wellness centres will greatly improve the coverage and conditions in medical facilities. According to him, the government’s reforms have resulted in an increase in the number of cities covered by CGHS from 40 in 2014 to 80 as of this writing. The minister stated that the centres will soon be available in 100 Indian cities. According to Dr. Mandaviya, the government wants to reach as far into the interior of the country as possible by making sure that beneficiaries of the CGHS may access the medical treatment that is nearest to where they live.
