Revenue from passengers increased by 76% for railways.

New Delhi: Throughout April to November of this year, Indian Railways’ earnings in the passenger segment surged by 76%. In compared to the 24 thousand 631 crore rupees in income realised during the same period previous year, Railways has generated more than 43 thousand crore rupees in these months.

In the past eight months, the reserved passenger segment has brought in 34,303 crores of rupees for Railways. In compared to the same period previous year, it has had an increase of 50%.

In the unreserved passenger category during that time, Railways had revenue growth of 422%. Over nine thousand crores of rupees in revenue were earned by the railways from April to November of this year.
