Kolkata:Covid-19 Survivors’ Club-an organization has been formed with the people who, in spite of being infected by Corona virus, have won the battle. The organization has been formed couple of days ago in a district town Murshidabad in West Bengal. Murshidabad police administration and a couple of doctors, working at Murshidabad Medical College, have taken the initiative.
According to information provided by state health department, 202 people were infected by Corona virus and 180, out of them have been completely cured from the deadly disease.
The organization has been formed with those 180 people. The people who have won against the pandemic in the district will first be felicitated by the organization as a mark of inspiration for the common men in the district as well as the state and whole country. Manju Bannerjee, Principal of Murshidabad Medical College revealed that the initiative must encourage the people all over the country who have been fighting against the disease.
There were several migrant workers among those 180 people who have been cured from the disease. The unfortunate part is that the migrant workers were facing humiliation in their society even after being cured. They were not being allowed to buy vegetables from local market. They were being isolated by their neighbors.
One of the migrant workers Ziarul Mullick has commented on the occasion, “It has been a great effort by the district police and doctors. Even after being cured from Corona virus we were not being treated normally by the people, living around us in the district. We were falling into depression gradually. In this situation district police and doctors have brought us back into normal life.”
