New Delhi: Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction, the government launched several programmes to empower the youth as India entered the Amrit Kaal. These programmes are designed to help young people gain the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure sustainable growth and achieve Aatmanirbhar Bharat. More than one crore candidates have been taught through the Pradhan Mantri Kausal Vikas Yojana as part of the Empowering Youth India initiative (PMKVY). The northeastern states’ around 1.3 million youth have been placed in PMKVY’s short-term training programme.
